IMPHAL, March 15: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his deputy Gaikhangam today met All India Congress Committee leaders in the national capital.
The meeting has come days after a dissident group of the Congress party in the State had met both the All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi and apprised them of their demands.
According to reliable sources, instances of both the CM and his deputy meeting party leaders at the same time in the national capital have not been many.
Though it was not immediately known as to what issues were discussed during today’s meeting, it is speculated that the State leaders and the Central leaders of the party must have resolved to meet at least some of the demands of the dissident group.
This has however, raised speculations that the two State leaders will be meeting the Central leaders tomorrow again.
It is also learnt that CM Ibobi and Dy CM Gaikhangam who is also the president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee will return to Imphal on March 17.
