CHURACHANDPUR, March 31: Two grenades were lobbed this late evening at residences of two well known traders at Khumuzamba Leikai in Churachandpur. While one exploded the other failed to explode. No one was injured in the explosion.
The grenades were lobbed around 8pm.
The two traders who have shops selling chicken, groceries and other items at New Bazar are identified as N Abung Singh and H Momocha Singh, both residents of Khumuzamba Leikai.
The grenade lobbed at the residence of Momocha exploded but failed to create much damages.
Meanwhile, although the one lobbed at the residence of Abung failed to explode, it nevertheless, created much panic among the neighbours.
A neighbour, who didn’t want to be named said they feel no protected and are scared despite the fact that a BSF post is stationed near their locality.
Meanwhile, soon after getting information, the Police led by the district’s top officials and the Army rushed to the blast site and look into the attacks.
Meanwhile, sources informed that the two traders had not received any monetary demands or threats from anyone and that they suspect no one.
