Malangmei married women get together

IMPHAL, March 30: Married women of Malangmei clan residing in Manipur, Assam and Nagaland gathered together at a function under the banner Malangmei Kaikhuang Luh Kaokimei, held today at Bitiang (Laphok) in Tamenglong district.

The main theme of organizing the function is to offer prayer by the married women and get blessing from their brothers to bring peace, prosperity and harmonious life.

The Malangmei is an ancient old clan exist since before the birth of Haipou Jadonng Malangmei.

During the gathering, Ruh Kaokimoi Monument was unveiled and ritual ceremony and songs were also performed.

Brothers of Malangmei clan presented gifts to the married women.

Former ADC, Daniel Malangmei; Rev. Timothy Phaomei (pastor of RNBA CCJ); retd SDO, Malangmei Gopal and Chairman of Finance Committee, Dr Heera Malangmei attended the function.

Around 700 people were also present at the occasion.
