Samaram JAC blocks NH-2 demanding Khomdonmacha’s release

IMPHAL, March 12: A JAC formed against the arrest of Nongmaithem Khomdonmacha Singh, 48, son of (L) Ibocha in connection with the death of Nongmaithem (o) Memcha alias Mimi has imposed an indefinite blockade along the NH 2 at Khongjom Samaram starting today demanding the police release Khomdonmacha.

Speaking to media persons, a spokesperson of the JAC said Khomdonmacha was arrested yesterday by the police after he was called to discuss something.

Claiming that Khomdonmacha is innocent in the case, the JAC is demanding his unconditional release at the earliest.

It may be mentioned that Memcha’s lifeless body was recovered on February 26 from a paddy field at Samaram maning Leikai, under Thoubal Police after she was reported missing since February 23.

Memcha and her husband were staying together at her parental residence at Thambalkhong, before she went missing.
