Will continue movement according to JAC’s resolutions: Sanjit’s mother Taratombi

IMPHAL, March 31: Although the court has rejected the pleas seeking reopening of the July 23 BT Road Fake Encounter case following fresh disclosure from one of the main accused in the case Thounaojam Herojit Singh, further course of actions will be taken up according to the resolutions of the JAC and the local clubs, said Chungkham Taratombi mother of Ch Sanjit Singh who was killed in the infamous BT Road killing.

She said she felt sad on hearing yesterday’s judgement of the District and Session Judge/ Imphal West; however, the JAC formed by the people of the State soon after Sanjit’s death is still active, she added.

The JAC still has the same convenor, she declared.

Now we are prepared to carry on the movement according to the resolutions taken by the JAC and the local clubs, she said further adding that the JAC and the local clubs could convene meetings tonight itself.

Even if the meeting is not convened today due to certain inconveniences, it will be held at the earliest, she said.

It may be mentioned that regarding the incident, the City Police Station had registered an initial case under FIR NO 75 (7) 2009 u/s 302/326/307/506 IPC, 17/20 UA (p) Act and 25 (I-B) Arms Act.

However, following a photo story carried by the Tehelka Magazine on August 1, 2009, another case was registered under FIR No. 82 (8) 2009 u/s 302/34 IPC & Section 27 (3) Arms Act.
