IMPHAL, April 17: All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi today approved the new office bearers of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee appointed by the recently appointed Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president TN Haokip.
According to sources, K Ranjit Singh has been appointed as treasurer, N Biren Singh as vice president (Organisation, political affairs and media), N Loke Singh as vice president (frontal organisations, cells, elections and disciplinary affairs), Y Surchandra Singh as vice president (general administration, Planning and development), T Mangibabu Singh as vice president (political conference, municipalities and occasional functions), E Dwijamani Singh as vice president (panchayati raj, zilla parishad and nagar panchayat) and DD Thaisii as vice president (district council and social justice).
Sources also said that MLA N Biren Singh has been appointed as party spokesperson.
It is also learnt that Vidyapati Senjam, K Meghachandra Singh, RK Imo Singh, Victor keishing, Md Amin Shah, Janghemlung Panmei, L Jayantakumar Singh, RK Ranisana Devi, Kh Devabrata Singh, Punnam Rani Wangkhem (Bhatia) and Alfred K Arthur have been appointed as general secretaries.
S Jeeten Singh, P Shashikanta Singh, L Manglem Singh, A Pramodini Devi, S Birla Singh, Jyotin Waikhom, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Md Siraj Ahmed, Md Alam Azad and M Subhaschandra Singh have been appointed as party secretaries.
Executive members are Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh (CLP leader), deputy CM Gaikhangam, Phungzathang Tonsing, Dr Chaltonlien Amo, S Bira Singh, W Brajabidhu Singh, Dr Ng Bijoy Singh, RK Anand Singh, Yamthong Haokip, Z Kikhonbou Newmai, Nemcha Kipgen, N Priyomala, Nazima Begum and Thangkholun.
Those appointed as MPCC State Election Committee members are MPCC president TN Haokip, CM O Ibobi Singh, dy CM Gaikhangam, K Ranjit Singh, N Biren Singh, N Loken Singh, RK Imo Singh, Govindas Konthoujam, Ngamthang Haokip, Md Abdul nasir, T Manga Vaiphei, Ksh Biren Singh, DK Korungthang, Dr T Meinya Singh, Thangso Baite, Abdul Salam, L Tilotama Devi, Amir Hussain, and Th Bikram Khuman.
While N Biren Singh has been appointed as chairman of the MPCC Disciplinary Action Committee, K Ranjit Singh, Md Amin Shah, DD Thaisii have been appointed as members, and Punnam Rani Wangkhem (Bhatia) as convenor, informed the source.
The party has also issued an official order regarding the appointments, informed the source.
