Australian college signs MoU with JCRE skill solutions

IMPHAL, April 26: The JCRE Skill Solutions, Manipur signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Australian Retail College, Australia today at the Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal today.

The main objective of the MoU is to strengthen the cooperation between the two to enhance and extend the bilateral cooperation between Australia and the Northeastern India particularly Manipur, and the MoU covers both the parties to work on an exercise to bring together opportunities and meaningful outcomes for youth in the State, through the delivery of high quality industry oriented training, according to a press statement of the JCRE Skill Solutions.

Revenue, Law and Legislative Affairs and Forest and Environment minister I Hemochandra Singh attended the signing of the MoU as chief guest, Commerce and Industries, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry minister Govindas Khonthoujam as president while Australian Trade Commissioner Tom Calder, Australian Retail college vice president Sam Freeman and JCRE Skill Solutions CEO L Niranjan attended as guests of honour respectively.

During the signing of the MoU, Niranjan represented JCRE Skill Solutions while Sam Freeman represented the other side.

Speaking on the occasion, Hemochandra said that building a good relation needs mutual trust, sincerity and understanding among the two entities.

He lauded that the Australian college will provide job opportunity to the educated unemployment youths of Manipur through skill development.

On the ever raising number of educated unemployed youths in the State, Govindas observed that Manipur has the highest education rate in Northeast India and stands 5th in the unemployment sector.

He said about 7 lakhs individuals are registered in the State employment exchange.

The State has lowest per capita income and gross domestic products compared to other northeast States, he said.

Niranjan observed that due to lack of awareness on employment avenues, a large number of educated youths have remained unemployed in the State.

The JCRE has been working to solve the unemployment problem in the State by providing skill development in the international standard quality saying that its branches have been opened at Ukhrul, Senapati and Moreh.

Sam Freeman said that this is Australian Retail College’s first venture in Northeast India. He said he hopes that the college will continue to provide job opportunities to the rest of the country as well.

He further said that the college will provide not only jobs but also give platform to create good careers for the youths under the motto “learn and earn”.
