BJYM visits those injured in Mayai Lambi violence

IMPHAL, April 12: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Mandal Manipur Pradesh team led by its president Oinam Malesh today visited hospitals where victims of yesterday’s violence at Mayang Imphal are admitted.

The team which also included vice presidents Y Gopi, Dr Antas Khan, BJYM secretary M Boris Sharma and other executive members, visited RIMS, Raj Medicity, Noor Hospital Lilong and Public Hospital.

Malesh said the incident is unfortunate.

He said almost all of the victims were hit by shot guns.

At Raj Medicity, of the 14 injured we met, most of them had undergone operations, he said.

Four of them have been discharged, while of the 10 still under observation, six are said to be in critical conditions, he added.

At Nur Hospital, we found 11 undergoing treatment, he said and added it is very unfortunate that not a single representative of the government has visited the injured.

He demanded why the Congress MLAs and ministers are not showing any concern for the people of Manipur at such a crucial juncture.

The Congress government should bear the full responsibility of the violent incident, he demanded.

Malesh further appealed to the various communities living in the State against repeating such violent incident.

He said we are bound by the relation of brotherhood and cannot be separated.

The team also extended some financial help to the injured victims.
