IMPHAL, April 20: A seven-member team of the JD (U) Manipur led by Moirangthem Tombi will leave Imphal tomorrow for Patna to attend the party’s National executive meeting.

During the meeting, the State team will apprise the various State issues before the national leaders.

Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at the party’s Babupara office today, Tombi said that the national executive meeting has been fixed for April 23 at 11:30 am at Patna Bihar.

He said that they have prepared a report on burning issues of the State including the demand for Inner Line Permit System, the three bills passed by the State Assembly, repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act and the controversial Indo-Myanmar border issue which will be highlighted before leaders of the janata Dal parivar.

He said under draconian law, many innocent people of the State have been killed in the name of insurgency and in fake encounters by both the Central and State forces.

He said although three bills have been passed by the Manipur Assembly and waiting for the President’s assent, the State government has unfortunately failed to pressure the Centre till date on the issue.

The Indo-Myanmar border issue is another burning issue, as the State stands to lose land, nevertheless, the government has failed to take any positive initiative to solve the issue, he added.

Tombi further extended his gratitude and appreciated new CAF and PD minister for his assurance to implement the Food Security Act starting April 25.

He said it is good to hear that the minister has started distributing the beneficiary cards for the Food Security Act.

As for the coming IMC election, the JD (U) will be sharing seats with other like-minded political parties of the State, he said adding that the decision to identify the parties will be finalized after April 30, 2016 said Tombi.
