KISG condemns JCB driver killing

KANGPOKPI, April 19: The Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai today strongly condemned the alleged abduction and the subsequent killing of driver Ashang, who was engaged in the Sanakeithel-Leisan PMGSY road construction.

Thangkam Lupheng, president, KISG said that the society is really fed up of the nature of abduction/kidnapping for ransom by armed persons who claim themselves to be “struggling for the people”.

He continued that all concerned should stop this barbaric nature immediately for the sake of peace, harmony and development in the society while adding that such kind of merciless act has no place in this civilized world.

The Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai while sharing the pain and grief endured by the bereaved family urged the State government to arrest the perpetrators at the earliest and punish them befittingly in the most extreme form as per law of the land.

The KISG has also vehemently condemned the act of dumping the driver’s body, who had been kidnapped from a place near Songphel village in Ukhrul district in Saikul sub-division. It is also appealed to the general public to maintain calm and peace at this hour so as to avoid unwanted incidents due to this devilish act.
