Postal employees pen down strike on April 27

IMPHAL, April 26: Postal employees will stage a one day pen down/ tool down protest against the CBS/CIS related problems in Post Offices on April 27.

A statement of the All India Postal Employees Union P-III and P-IV, Manipur Divisional Branch said the All India Postal Employees Union P-III and P-IV of North Eastern Circle will participate in one day Pen down/ Tool down strike to draw the attention of the Department of Posts on the serious problems faced by the members of staff in the CBS/CIS roll out offices in all parts of the N.E. Circle including Manipur Division.

It said the main problems faced by the members of the staff are CBS/CIS services introduced in Post Offices without any infrastructure and the staffs working in these offices are the victims.

The main problem is poor connectivity provided by Sify which is regularly irregular and the matter was brought to the notice of the concerned authorities for immediate solutions but not fruitful result has been achieved, it said.

It continued the general public customers are attended in the counter and standing at queue for` hours together but our staff are not in a position to serve them due to failure of Sify connectivity and general public customer raised many questions for the inaction in the matter.

It said our staffs are to wait till late in the evening for waiting restoration of connectivity and completion of the day`s work and to make day end without any extra remunerations.

Since most of the lady staffs are working in the counter or handling C8S/CIS they are worst victims and their returning home has become a great problem and insecure as well; members of staff working at Sub Post offices in Manipur where CBS/CIS roll out has been done were called to Imphal Head Post Office for working and completion of days transaction, which is highly irregular and injustice, it said.
