IMPHAL, April 25: A woman today alleged her husband and his family of threatening and torturing her ever since her marriage in September 10, 2012.
Speaking at a press conference called in this regard at the Manipur Press Club today, the woman said after her marriage she was kept at a rented room by her husband a mechanic with the Indian Army Phundreimayum Sabir Khan, son of Husamuddin Maurabi of Sangaipham Cherapur.
Although she was put in a rented room, her in laws used to come and not only taunt her but also physically assaulted her, she said.
She said her husband who is presently posted in Rajasthan had also assaulted her and forced her to get abortion twice.
Now, she has learnt that her husband has married another girl just five days back, she claimed.
She said she had made complaints at the Porompat Police Station and Women Police Station, but they have remained silent on the issue owing to pressure from her in laws, who she claimed to be an influential family.
She has appealed to all concerned to help her.
