IMPHAL, April 30: The Churachandpur United Clubs Organisations (CUCO) strongly opposed the proposed rally due to be held on Many 22 demanding the inclusion of Meitei in the Schedule Tribe status by the Schedule Tribe Demand Committee.
In statement, CUCO publicity secretary Ngamthang Khongsai, opined that it is not right time to organise such massive rally taking into consideration on the volatile law and order situation of the state.
In the wake of the yet to be resolved issue of the nine martyr’s from Churachandpur, which is a result of the failure of the Government to take swifts initiative; appealed all the concern not to politicize such issues that could ignite further communal tension amongst indigenous people of the State.
