JCILPS demands stance of pol party regarding ILP

IMPHAL, May 6: The Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) have strongly retaliated to the statement of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and State BJP president Ksh Bhabhananda, on three bills recently passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Talking to media persons at its office today, JCILPS convenor Kh Ratan demanded the duo has to announce their stand instead of throwing the issue to one another, he stated that Congress and BJP parties should take important role for implement ILPS in the State.

The Congress party leads the Government in the State while BJP leads the Government in the Centre, he said.

Ratan said that JCILPS demanded the political parties to announce their stand on ILPS within May 8, and warned that intense form of agitations will follow, if the political parties fail to announced their stance by the given dead- line.

The committee has been demanding that no outsiders should be allowed to contest or cast votes in the ensuing IMC polls and the names of outsiders should be removed from the electoral rolls.

Ratan said , “We should not give our political and voting right to the outsiders”.

JCILPS lauded the Manipur Peoples’ Party (MPP) for announced their stand to the public and further

appreciated the people for supporting the ongoing public curfew from May 5 midnight to May 7, he appealed the protestors to give passage to the media persons, electricity, water supply, medical, religious and other emergencies.

JCILPS Women Wing convenor Lourembam Nganbi warned that the women are ready to lunch intensified forms of agitations if the political parties failed to announce their stand to the public by April 8.
