IMPHAL, May 19: The JAC formed in connection with the alleged firing towards Nungei Meira Paibi Shanglen last month has called a 24-hour state-wide public curfew starting from May 22 midnight.
This was announced by the convenor of the JAC Sanjoy Khaidem during a press meet held today at the Manipur Press Club.
He said the JAC has been demanding punishment of the three who had fired shotguns towards the meira paibi shanglen on April 11 leaving atleast 14 persons injured, however the government has continued to remain silent on the demand.
He said the JAC had even convened a public meeting with CSOs and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard.
