IMPHAL, May 21: The Revolutionary People’s Front has claimed that a special warfare team of its military unit, the People’s Liberation Army was responsible for the attack on troopers of 54th Bn BSF D-coy who were on foot patrol near Chinggol Melei Tampak Tourist Centre in Heirok Part-II in the morning of May 19 last. In a press release issued today by the chief department of publicity, the front further asserted that its cadres inflicted injuries on the BSF troopers in the attack. It further stated that in the aftermath of attack on the central security personnel, the chief of army staff congratulated the team which planned the attack, its executors, members of special warfare unit and all persons who had provided assistances in the success of the mission.
