KOHIMA, Jun 16 (NEPS): The four brave woman bikers from a biking club, Biking Queens, who have been on their 10-Nation biking Expedition, have left Kohima, the State capital of Nagaland, this morning for their onward biking expedition to other ASEAN countries via Imphal and Moreh, border town of Manipur.
The four woman bikers – Dr Sarika Mehta, Yugma Desai, Khyati N Desai and Durriya M Tapia – are all from Gujarat.
Assam Rifles, members from State Resource Center for Women (SRCW) also felicitated the four woman bikers from Biking Queens. SRCW also lauded them for taking such inspirational 10-Nation expedition to spread the message of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
This 10-nation biking expedition by the four brave women from Gujarat started from June 4 at Surat, Gujarat. They reached Nagaland yesterday, June 15.
The message “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” is a movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save and educate the girl child, thereby giving them equal opportunity in the society.
Assam Rifles Officials and a large number of students from Don Bosco Kohima also attended the “Flag-off Program”.
