Meira Paibis and local club volunteers of Yourabung, Imphal East did not allow transportation of any goods along Imphal-Ukhrul road today.
They confiscated goods transported in two mini-trucks at Yourabung.
Counter economic blockade was also imposed at Lamlai where all vehicles were checked by counter economic blockade supporters.
Meanwhile Yourabung Meira Paibi secretary Sagolsem Ibetombi has appealed to all concerned to call off the ongoing economic blockade at the earliest.
It is reported that counter economic blockade was launched in Bishnupur district since last night.
Local club volunteers and Meira Paibis checked vehicles travelling along Tidim Road at Tronglaobi, Khudekpi, Terakhongshangbi, Kwak- ta etc and goods found in the vehicles were pulled down.
Similar counter blockade was also seen at Saiton and Khumbong along Imphal-Jiribam highway. Transpor- tation of rice consignments from Moirang, Wangoo and Kumbi to hill districts were also prohibited.
The 10-days economic blockade was called by the JAC Against Anti-Tribal Bills Manipur and the Outer Manipur Tribal Forum in denunciation of the three Bills passed by the Assembly on August 31 last year.
