Two days Farmers Training Programme cum Exposure Visit on “Improved Technology of Pulses Production” from 21st to 22nd June, 2016 was successfully concluded at the conference hall of ICAR-RC for NEH Region Manipur Centre under the patronage of Dr. Narendra Prakash, the Joint Director ICAR-RC for NEH Region Manipur Centre. The programme was jointly organized by ICAR Manipur Centre and KVK Churachandpur under Tribal Sub Plan for Jhum Improvement Programme. Altogether 27 farmers from 9 villages of Churachandpur district participated.

The function was graced by Dr. Niranjan Lal, Programme Co-ordinator, KVK, Churachandpur, Dr. M A Ansari, Scientist (Agronomy) ICAR-RC for NEH Region Manipur Centre, and Dr. Sushil Kumar, Scientist (Plant Pathology) and Ms. Manngaihkim, KVK, Churachandpur as the presidium members.

During the technical session, Dr. Rishikanta Singh, talks about the Importance of Pulses
in Livelihod Improvement; Dr M.A Ansari Highlighted Technologies of Pulses in North East;
Dr. L.K Vaishya Talks about the Importance of Integrated Weed Management in Pulses; Dr. N. Arati Devi talks about Plant Protection in Pulses; Dr. T. Basanta gave lecture on Integrated Nutrient Management and Liming Impact in pulse Crop; Dr. P.K Saraswat gave lecture on Soil Health and Human Health; Dr. Blessa Sailo delivered lecture on Baby Pig Management and Dr. Niranjan Lal gave a gist on Poultry and Piggery- A best entrepreneur. The technical session was followed by Farmers-Scientist Interaction in which different queries from farmers were answered by the scientist. On the second day farmer exposure visit was arranged, wherein, the farmers were taken to ICAR Langol Farm and various progressive farmers field of Imphal East and Imphal West for live demonstration.
