CNPO decries govt apathy

IMPHAL, July 13: The Chandel Naga Peoples’ Organisation (CNPO) has alleged that it has been cheated by the state government in collusion with the district administration on various issues.

In a statement the CNPO stated that the organisation had verbally appealed to the deputy commissioner to look into the fund sanctioned by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India for the flood and landslide affected people of Chandel in 2015.

Unfortunately, nothing was done by the district administration, it said.

The issue of transferring land revenue records of Chandel district from Thoubal District and elsewhere to the concerned districts was not taken seriously by the present DC, it alleged.

Against this backdrop, almost all departments in the districts are now shifted to mini secretariat but many DLOs, staffs failed to attend office, the CNPO asserted.

The CNPO urged the DC to release or do the needful so that natural calamities victims get their dues adding that it had appealed the DC to initiate steps for early transfer of all land revenue records to Chandel district.

It further informed that the CNPO will resume inspection of all departments and offices in the coming days and will take action thereof.

It further asked the DC to take serious note of the issues failing which it warned to take stringent actions deemed fit by the CNPO.
