BT road incident case Tejpal, Shoma, Babloo depose

IMPHAL, Aug 8: Founder and former Editor-in-chief of Tehelka magazine Tarun Tejpal, former Managing Editor of the same magazine, Shoma Chaudhury and Human Rights Alert Director Babloo Loitongbam today deposed before the Court in the July 23 BT Road incident case.
All the accused except Y Munal were also present at today’s trial hearing.
Shoma Chaudhury appeared before the Court as prosecution witness number 85. She was cross examined by the counsels of defence and CBI and discharged from the case.
Tarun Tejpal who deposed before the Court as prosecution witness number 86 told the Court that the photographs published on Tehelka magazine were genuine and the images were not edited or tampered. The scribe however said that he doesn’t know the photographer.
After examining his statement by defence and CBI counsels, Tejpal was also discharged from the case.
Babloo Loitongbam, who had already appeared as prosecution witness number 75 in March, deposed again for the second time.
He told the Court that he provided the photographs to Tehelka magazine and the statement he had given during his last Court appearance was true.
His deposition was crossed examined by the counsels of both the sides in the open Court.
Later, the Court fixed August 29 as the next date of hearing of the sensational case.
