A group of students under the supervision of All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) stormed Raj Bhavan at around 1.30 pm. The incensed students held placards and chanted slogans against the agreement which according to them pose a threat to the territorial boundary of the State .
They were stopped by CRPF and Manipur police personnel manning the Governor’s bungalow, leading to an altercation between the two sides.
When the altercation was taking place, another group of women folk came from Keishampat side and joined in storming Raj Bhavan. They also raised slogans in protest against the agreement.
Later a representative of AMSU and women folks were allowed to meet Governor Dr Najma Heptulla.
It may be mentioned that AMSU has been launching different forms of agitation since the last few days demanding announcement of the contents of the Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015.
