I am sad to learn about the passing away of Haji Abdul Salam, Member of Parliament, representing Manipur State in the Rajya Sabha.
Haji Abdul Salam was a man of great political vision who worked for the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden. He will always be remembered for his dedication, sense of public service, innate simplicity and honesty. In his death, the State has lost an excellent political leader.
On behalf of the people of Manipur and on my behalf, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family of Haji Abdul Salam and his followers. I pray to the Almighty to give you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. I also pray for peace of the departed soul.
