GUWAHATI: Outlawed militant outfit, Khaplang faction of NSCN has accused the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of “creating chasms” between Naga national workers and the Naga public.

In the wake of the NIA arresting three Nagaland State Government officials for ‘providing funds’ to the NSCN (K), the outfit in a media statement stated that the anti-Naga and anti-people intent, policies and actions of the NIA is thus pre-mediated.

The outfit added that taxation to NSCN is a conscious political exercise of the Naga people that legitimises the mandated national aspiration for sovereign independence.

“The common Nagas are ever supportive and finds common ground with NSCNs self-governing mechanism of taxes, donations, stipulations etc, it is however the conspiracy of the Government of India (GOI) in fomenting divisions and creation of several criminal gangs that is tormenting the economically challenged state of affairs.”

The outfit stated, “It shall continue levying of reasonable and affordable taxes which the people had willingly been subscribing to not only for the sustenance of our national struggle but in preservation of the inherent rights to self-govern and self-determine our destiny as practiced for centuries by our forefathers in an independent sovereign village republics.”

The outfit further stated, “During these troubled times, the Nagas are urged to rise against an alien authority persecuting the upright Naga public servants while massive corruption in public offices remains unchecked and criminals roams scot free.”
