Biswajit, Yunnan official discuss bilateral trade

IMPHAL, Jun 21: Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industries Th Biswajit called on Chief International Business Officer of Yunnan State Farms Agri-business Group Company Limited Tang Shangjun, Tuesday evening, and discussed ways to promote trade and agro-based activities between India and China.

The Minister met the Chief International Business Officer at the latter’s Dongfeng East Road official residence in Kunming, Yunnan province, People’s Republic of China, conveyed a press release issued by L Bashanta, media coordinator to the Chief Minister of Manipur.
During the meeting, the Chief International Business officer expressed his interest in investing in certain prospective agro-based activities in Manipur. Tang Shangjun also expressed his desire to visit Manipur. Th Biswajit and Tang Shangjun discussed about free movement of Chinese traders in Manipur.

Tang Shangjun also drew the Minister’s attention on PAC (Prior Approval Category). He further reassured to promote trade between the two countries.

It may be mentioned that a team from the State led by Th Biswajit attended the South and South East Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair, 2017 at the Dianchi International Convention and International Sistership pavilion at Kunming, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China.

The Minister is being accompanied by L Lakher, Principal Secretary Commerce and Industry, M Luikham, Director Commerce and Industry, L Inunganbi Devi, Corporator, Imphal Municipal Corporation (Ward No 18), L Bashanta, Media Coordinator to the Chief Minister of Manipur and Chandrakishore, President, North East Federation on International Trade, Manipur Chapter.
