CBI conducts raid over fund misutilization

IMPHAL, Jun 6 : CBI Anti-Corruption Bureau Imphal Branch today conducted raids in five different locations in connection with the ‘misuse’ of Rs 18, 49, 25, 000 sanctioned under the Ministry of Food Processing Industry for construction of an integrated food chain project at Mao Gate.

According to a reliable source, five teams of CBI Anti-Corruption Bureau Imphal Branch under the supervision of two DSPs of the investigation agency carried out raids simultaneously at Associate for Action Development Society (AAPDS) office located at Mao Gate, its camp office located at Paomei Colony, M/S Union Enterprises, Khoyathong, M/S Sujata Construction, Majorkhul at Thangal Bazar and SL Gangawal & Co office, Thangal Bazar.

The raid that started from morning at around 8.30 continued till late evening.
A case was registered by the investigation agency after getting complaint from various sections for not properly utilising the amount sanctioned in 2012.

The source said some high profile persons including a politician are involved in the case.
The investigation agency seized some documents relating to the case from the raided areas, it added.
