THOUBAL| June 16: The ongoing selection of teachers conducted by SSA, Thoubal block for Kahturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, sikhong, Sekmai is marred by irregularities as it has come to light, after investigation that a candidate that had been falsely rejected for not furnishing the required TET certificate.

To fill some empty seats under contract basis, the selection was held by inviting qualified candidates from the district. The candidate who had been rejected is one Shamurailatpam Premananda from Yairipok bamol Leikai. He had applied for the post of the part time teacher of physical and health education.

Elaborating on the matter, Premananda speaking to newspersons said on May 25, ZEO Thoubal office had released a notice about the vacant seats for the post of teacher and other staff for KGVB Shikhiong Sekmai.

As per the notice, he had applied for the post of Part time teacher, physical and health education by submitting the application form along with all the required documents. Unfortunately, he was rejected on the grounds that he had not included his certificate for clearing the TET exam.

Not only that, his name was included with a mistake in the notification of the rejected list released on June 14 by the ZEO/DPO SSA Thoubal at their website Thoubal.nic.in, he added.
He said, when he came to the office of ZEO Thoual to inquire on the issue, he found that his TET II certificate was not missing at all.

He continued further that it is highly suspected that there could have been malpractices during the time of screening process, since only 5 candidates have applied for the post of Physical and health education.

“I feel I have been intentionally rejected”, he said.

Premananda also informed that he came to know that the ZEO/DPO SSA Thoubal S. mangi had little knowledge about the TET exam while searching for his already submitted certificate copies.

He said that, he is surprised about being rejected for TET certificate as the eligibility for the post he had applied is 10 plus 2. The vacancy notice did not specifically mention the requirement for TET II which is an exam that requires the candidate to be a graduate as well as B.Ed, he added.
