SIT to probe recruitment process

IMPHAL, Jun 8 : The State Government has instituted five Special Investigation Team (SIT), to probe the recruitment process in 15 departments effected during the reign of the previous Congress Government.

An order to this effect was issued today by the Department of Personnel.
The five SITs will probe the alleged irregularities in the recruitment in different Government Departments in 2016-17 including the period when the election model code of conduct had come into force.

The SITs will check all the related documents, papers, files during the course of the investigation and the Heads of Departments have been asked to furnish all the needed files before the Chairman of each SIT.

The five SITs are to be headed by Addl Chief Secretary Dr Suhel Akhtar, IAS with Rangitabali Waikhom, MCS (DS/Transport) and Joyce Lalremmawi, MPS (CO 9th IRB) as members and they will probe CAFPD, Economics and Statistics and Education S.

The second team will be led by MH Khan, IAS, Principal Secretary with Yumnam Robita, MCS (DS/Finance) and Lenin Lamabam, MPS (AD/MPTC) as members and they will investigate Forest and Environment, FD/Treasury and GAD.

Principal Secretary Letkhogin Haokip, IAS will head another team which will probe Health and Family Welfare, Higher and Technical Education and Home/Police.

The fourth SIT will be led by Commissioner T Pamei, IAS with Somorjit Salam, MCS (Director/DSLR) and Sarda Laishram, MPS (SP/CID/CB) as members and this team will probe IT, MI and PWD. Commissioner H Deleep, IAS will lead another team with Rachel Guite, MCS (DS, DP/Finance) and B Dhanapyari, MPS (SP, CID/Security) as members and it will probe Revenue, RD and PR and Vety and AH.
