State CSOs continue their hectic lobbying in New Delhi

IMPHAL | Dec 21 : The CSOs comprised of United Committee Manipur (UCM), All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) and Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) currently camping in the national capital met Sitaram Yechuri, national general secretary of CPI (M) and K. Sangma, president of National People’s Party yesterday and put forward their clear view on Framework Agreement.

According to reports, the CSO team conveyed the steadfast stand of the people of Manipur not to accept finalization of the Framework Agreement signed between Government of India and NSCN-IM, without the their (people) consent besides their stand not to compromise on the integrity of the state at any cost.

It is learnt that a memorandum, which was drafted to be submitted to the Prime Minister, was also submitted to the said leaders.

As a part of their ongoing mission, the CSOs delegates today met national secretary general of Shiv Sena, Anil Desai. Meanwhile, at their meet, they have also talked to the president of the political party, Udhav Thackeray on the phone.

In response the political leaders reportedly assured the team to put up the issue in the ongoing parliament session.

The CSOs left for national capital on December 16 to meet the central leaders and put forward the recommendations of people of the state. So far they have met major central leaders including, AAP president Arvind Kejriwal , AICC president Rahul Gandhi.

The delegates which comprises of eight members of three major civil bodies of Manipur was led by UCM president Elangbam Johnson, AMUCO president, Ph. Deban and CCSK president, Jeetendra Ningomba.
