A mild earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on richter scale jolted the state and other part of the north eastern region today.
A statement issued by department of EarthSciences Manipur university, said that the quake was triggered at 12.17 afternoon (IST).
The epicenter was located about 98 km East of the observatory and 7 km south east of Yele Village of Hkamti district of Sagain region on the eastern bank of Chindwin river, Myanmar. The depth of the earthquake is estimated to be about 20 km.
