Profile: SAILEX NGAIRANGBAM

The Manipur Born designer,  an alumnus of Domus Academy, Milan and NIFT India, Sailex N G gained experience working with reputed names in European fashion like Fiorucci, Frankie Morello and Rafael Lopez. He launched his women’s wear label ‘Sailex’ in 2008, with a runway debut at Lakmé Fashion Week’s Gen Next platform. Within a short span of time, Sailex has become a name to reckon with in women’s luxury prêt, with showings and exhibitions across the country. He was selected as one of LFW’s best finds in the 5 Years of Gen Next show in 2010 and also participated in Sai-Tex, Johannesburg in 2011. His seemingly simple pieces are crafted with precision pattern cutting and exude an elegant sensuality.
