UCM says flaws in malaria programme

IMPHAL, Aug 11: The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has pointed out flaws in the malaria programme being implemented by the state malaria department in different districts of the state.

A release of UCM stated that the officials of malaria department are using expired chemicals during the insecticide treated bed net (ITBN) programme and so the people should check the chemicals before they are used for the purpose of disinfecting the surroundings for prevention against malaria and other vector borne diseases.

It also drew the attention of the state health department to closely monitor the working behavior of the SMO and DMOs of state malaria department.
