AIDS awareness for armed forces personnel in Ccpur

IMPHAL, Sep 12: The District AIDS Officer Churachandpur has started launching a series of District AIDS Awareness Campaigns and Training programmes since one week particularly among uniformed personnel.

As part of this the DAO Dr. VC pao Tonsing conducted an Aided Trainning Programme today at 11th Bn IRB posted at Headquater veng Churachandpur campus.

The programme was started this afternoon at around 1:30 pm and continued till 4 pm during which awareness was given on how HIV/AIDS spreads.

During the training program the resource persons pointed out the need for awareness on HIV/AIDS amongst the security personnel and also added that amongst the security personnel affected by HIV/AIDS, the Assam Rifles are highest in number after the BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP and others.

In today’s training program around six IRB personnel and 15 officials participated. The awareness program was made more interesting by questions posed by the security personnel during the interaction session and they gave good response on how to avoid this virus. The official of the IRB sitting in the front row also gave rapt attention to the resource persons during the technical session.
