Imphal, Sep 11: A massive combing operation was conducted by a large team of Imphal East district police led by Addl SP Imphal East police station at Thumbuthong to Bramhapur Aribam, Nahabam and surrounding areas early this morning.
During the search operations conducted by the Imphal East district police in the area, all male persons below 45 years in age were called out from their respective homes and assembled at the local grounds and the Bramhapur Nahabam Leikai basketball ground early in the morning where there was a verification of their identities.
The Imphal East district police during the verification parade picked up one surrendered militant along with 37 other persons who are presently residing in rented houses in the Bramhapur area and further verified their identities at the Imphal East police station at Porompat in the morning itself, the source added.
