Missing boy surfaces, strike called off

IMPHAL, Sep 5: The 24-hour general strike called by the JAC formed against the disappearance of Md Rohit has been called off following the return of the missing school student today.

Md Rohit, a student of Hundred Flower School who went missing since August 19 was found getting off from an Imphal bound Ukhrul bus at Khabeisoi area in Imphal East under Heingang police station this afternoon around 2.30 pm.

Rohit was intercepted by Khabeisoi locals and later handed over to Heingang police station and then to the SP Imphal East. He was later handed over to his family members after being given proper advice.

Speaking to mediapersons, Rohit said he was punished by the principal of Hundred Flower School at the school premises on August 19 because of his wrong conduct against one of his classmates.

The school principal told me not to join further classes, Rohit said adding that he went out from the school immediately after he was told not to join any more classes.

Rohit further narrated that he came to the Ukhrul parking located at DM College gate and boarded an Ukhrul bus. He further said that he met eight laborers who were going to work at the 23 AR post located at Sangsat and joined the team.

Rohit said he came out of the work place today along with one Amir Khan of Lilong Turel Ahanbi and boarded an Imphal bound Ukhrul bus.

  1. This is very unbecoming of people in Manipur esp. so called JAC to called for strike for every small petty reason. Such cases are to be deal with only within the parents and school authority and not effected the life of the whole state..Very improper and immature indeed
