IMPHAL, Sept 4: The Shantilata Memorial School Van Driver Welfare Association has organised a competition on essay writing at the premise of Shantilata Memorial School on September 1.
According to a release competition was organised for two categories, one for classes VI to VIII and the other for classes IX and X with respective topics on ‘Blockade in Manipur and its effects’ and ‘Mobile phone/Global warming’.
In the first category, Shusmi Chanda bagged first position while Sonali Agarwal and B Banko bagged second and third positions respectively. All the students were class X students.
In the second category, the compition was won by H Shantibala of class VII while Stanlandro of class VII and Th Birkumar of class VI bagged second and third spot.
The release further said the association adopted a mechanism with the school students to select the best two teachers of the school for the year 2009 and 2010. Later, H Deven was declared best teacher for classes I to V while Akoijam Ginesh as best teacher for classes VI to X.
