IMPHAL, Sep 27: The Wangkhei Kendra Development Forum has excoriated the elected representatives of the constituency for keeping the area in a deplorable condition with no proper road and drainage system for the last many decades.
Addressing a press conference at Mantripukhri, general secretary of Wangkhei Kendra Development Forum AK Kom stated that despite of being a constituency under Imphal Municipal Council, Wangkhei A/C has been an underdeveloped area for the last 15-20 years owing to the apathy of the concerned MLA of the constituency.
However, the Forum under the initiative of social worker O. Henry has been able to take up rapid development works in all the four wards of Wangkhei A/C, namely ward no. 21, 22, 23 and 26. The condition of roads and drainage system in every nook and corner of the constituency have greatly developed and further more development works will be implemented soon in the constituency, he noted.
The Forum also expressed gratitude to social worker Henry for providing all necessary assistance to take up these development works at his own expense, and urged the benevolent social worker to become the representative of the people of Wangkhei A/C.
