Parliamentary teams hold meets

IMPHAL, Oct 25: Eleven members Parliamentary team on Official Language led by Rajya Sabha MP Satyabarta Chaturvedi who arrived in the state capital yesterday on a three visit conducted series of inspection meeting from 10 am this morning at the conference of Imphal Hotel with various related officials today to monitor whether the implementation of language Act is being done sincerely or not in the state of Manipur.

At the start of the day, an inspection meeting with the the central team and the DIG, Sector HQ/BSF, Koirengei was held at the hotel. This was followed by a meeting with the officials of the Regional office SAI, Imphal at 11am and than the team also conducted the same inspection meeting the officials of CIPET Extension centre Imphal at Hotel Imphal at 12 noon today.

Later after completing the inspection meetings with various concerned authorities and officials at Hotel Imphal the central team went on a sight seeing trip to the historical Kangla Fort, Govindaji Temple etc in the Imphal area.

Thereafter, the visiting Parliamentary team were entertained with a cultural programme including the traditional dance of Khamba Thoibi dances at JN Dance Academy Imphal at 6.30 pm.

The chief minister O Ibobi Singh then hosted a dinner for them at Hotel Imphal.

It may be mentioned that, 11 members Parliamentary team on Official Language led by Rajya Sabha MP Satyabarta Chaturvedi, Dy Chairman of the committee, Lok Sabha MP, Rajendra Agarwal, convenor of the committee, and nine members including, Rajya Sabha MP, Shreepal, Rajya Sabha MP, Shivanand Tiwari, Lok Sabha MP, Pradeep Janta, Lok Sabha MP, Dinesh Chandra Yadav, Lok Sabha MP, Ninong Ering, Lok Sabha MP, Ashok Argal, Lok Sabha MP, Gajanan D Babar, Lok Sabha MP, Mahabal Mishra and Lok Sabha MP, Dara Singh Chauhan, have arrived state capital yesterday afternoon and they were given arm reception by the officials of CIPET and state protocol officers, BSF and SAI using Gamocha and Bouquets on their arrival to Imphal Airport.

Later the Parliamentary team attended a called on meeting with the chief minister O Ibobi Singh yesterday evening around 6.30 pm at his official bungalow along with the concerned officials of the state and discussed various issues related to the implementation of official language act in the state.

On the other hand the visiting Parliamentary team will be leaving Imphal Airport tomorrow morning, the official source added.
