Poultry training

    UKHRUL, Oct, 30: A Comprehensive 6-day-long ‘Poultry Training programme for 100 Educated unemployed Youths on Rural backyard farming’ Organized by the department of Vety & AH, Government of Manipur in Collaboration with the Central Poultry Development Organization (CPDO) Eastern Region and the North Eastern Region, Bhubaneswar in Ukhrul District successfully concluded today. The Short time Certificate-Oriented Course commenced from 25th-30th October 2010 at the TTA Conference with the very enthusiastic and keen 100 Educated – unemployed Youths in the District registered and took part.

    The main Resource-person in the training was Dr. Indira Nair, farm Manager, CPDO Bhubansewar (Orissa) who imparted the vital basic lessons with the central aim to sensitize the Programme of poultry Farming Project in view to raise the margin of per Capita production of Eggs and meat production in the regions through Backyard booster as the present National per Capita is only 3 eggs per year and almost every State depends on the State of Andra Pradesh which is the leading State of egg production in the Country. A Comprehensive knowledge from the grass-root level to the higher to engage in raring Poultry farming both in dual and single system was imparted in a ‘nut-shell’ class medium of reasoning the trainees. She also taught a very systematic principles and chapters touching on the subjects to plan an ideal Poultry Farming. The vital procedures, steps and formulae to have a strict awareness in Bio-securities in preparing an ideal poultry shed, Chicks procurement, vaccination (medication) and also the formula for the preparation of the poultry feed both for the broiler and the layer according to the latest BIS instruction is taught.

    The short term complicated training that evoked tremendous beneficial preparations towards the Ukhrul Educated unemployed youths to find avenues in self employment concluded today with a grand Closing Ceremony with the functional chief guest N. Ashok Kumar (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Ukhrul and Dr. K. Gopal Singh, Joint Director,Directorate of Veti &AH, Manipur, Mr. AS. Ningmi, District Officer, Horti & Soil Conservation, Ukhrul as the President and guest of Honour. The DC Ukhrul deeply encouraged and appreciated the initiatives of the programme in support to uplift the development of the need of the people in the district in regard to the eggs and meat production where the people of the district is in very low production of the quantities. The Deputy Commissioner also promised to Organize a training tour to Bhubaneswar by selecting some at least 10 students from the outshine trainees. Certificates and stipend were also distributed in the occasion to the trainees.
