IMPHAL, October 5: A 23 year old man identified as Khaidem Naoba, 23 son of Eto of Kongpal Khaidem Leikai who went missing after a failed attempt to kidnap a nine year old girl of the same locality has surrendered to Porompat Police station.
According to sources, Naoba tried to kidnap a teenage girl after luring the girl to witness Irawat birth anniversary celebration function held at the locality on September 30.
A relative of the girl identified as one Ngouba Meitei while visiting a workshop at Khurai Thangjam Leirak saw Naoba along with teenage girl. Naoba vanished from the area once Ngouba tried to enquire about their presence in the area.
The grandfather of the girl made a formal complaint to the Porompat Police Station on October 1 regarding the attempted kidnap.
The Porompat police station has also registered a case under FIR no 231 (10) 2010 under Section 363/383 A-369 IPC.
