IMPHAL, Oct 19: Security forces have been able to arrest two UNLF cadres from separate incidents in various part of the state yesterday.
According to an official release of the SP Thoubal, a team of the Thoubal District police commandos have nabbed one active member of the proscribed UNLF while on frisking an checking duty at Tangjeng on NH 39 on October 18 at about 5pm. Arrested cadre has been identified as Moirangthem Jiten Singh, 33, son of Gojen of Thangmeiband Lairen Hanjaba Leikai.
Meanwhile, troops of the 23 AR of 10 Sector under the HQ IGAR (S) on October 18 apprehended another UNLF cadre identified as one Nongtongbom alias Pungpham, 22, resident of Ishikha village. The militant was arrested from his residence, the release added.
