IMPHAL, Sept 30: The Wildlife Photo Exhibition, 2010, organized by Wildlife Wing, Department of Forest, Government of Manipur, in connection with the celebration of 55th Wildlife Week was inaugurated today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal.

The inaugural function was graced by A. Khasing, additional chief conservator of forests and chief wildlife warden, as the chief guest and Khogendro Khomdram, president of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU), as the president.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration function, A. Khasing stated that wildlife photography has lots of professional prospects but at the same time it is also very risky. The photographers need to have patience and determination to capture good wildlife pictures, he said.

The editor of Imphal Free Press, Pradip Phanjoubam, and eminent environmentalist Kh. Shamungou were the jury members of the photo competition.

Speaking at the photo exhibition, Pradip Phanjoubam stressed on the use of specialized equipments of photography for capturing good wildlife pictures, and added that the photographers should have dedication and patience to take good pictures.
