Thai cultural, Muaythai shows dominate World Muaythai opening

BANGKOK, Nov 27 (NEPS): The colorful Thai cultural dances and the excellent Muaythai demonstrations have dominated the Opening ceremony of the World Muaythai Championship 2010 here at the Exhibition hall on the 4th floor of The Mall Bangkapi Shopping Center today.

Variety of cultural programs presented by Thai girls in their traditional attires enthralled the hundreds of Muaythai athletes and officials coming from 100 IFMA-member countries today.

The most magnificent item at the opening ceremony was the excellent Muaythai demonstrations by Thai boys and girls. They had presented various skills of Muaythai, Wai Kru (Muaythai traditional dances), Muay Boran and Muaythai aerobics with music amidst cheering from players, officials and spectators.

The Privy Councilor to His Majesty the King of Thailand has declared open the Championship that will conclude on December 5 to mark the honor of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 83rd birthday.

The Indian Muaythai Team is led by Oken Jeet Sandham, president of the Muaythai Federation of India (MFI).

President of World Muaythai Council (WMC), General Chetha Thejanaro, has briefed the activities of Muaythai under International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) to the Privy Councilor to His Majesty the King of Thailand.

Leaders from IFMA, WMC and FAMA from across the world and also leaders from Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand (AMAT) (host National Federation) attended the grand opening ceremony.

The bouts in various categories will start from tomorrow at 2 P.M.
