DESAM pleads HRD Minister for radical changes at Manipur University

IMPHAL, Jan 22: The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has submitted memorandum to the Union HRD Minister and Chancellor of Manipur University regarding the appointment of next vice-chancellor of Manipur University in view of making the university free from corruption and well advanced in the field of academics.
A release of DESAM said that the vice-chancellor plays a vital role in the development of a university and so it is very much important on the part of the Manipur University authority to appoint the next vice-chancellor of the university from someone who has exceptional contributions towards the development of education in the state rather than unscrupulous persons who have no interests for the welfare of the students.
The memorandum further mentioned that Manipur University should be bestowed to some responsible person who can lead the university towards the path of development.
