IMPHAL, Jan 18: The proscribed KCP-MC has called for a boycott at the 62nd Republic Day  Celebration which will be held on January 26.
A statement of the KCP-MC signed by its secretary military affairs, Lanheiba Meitei said that Manipur was forcibly annexed by the Indian government on October 15, 1949 after the then Maharaja Bodhachandra was made to sign the merger agreement at gun point.
It further mentioned that Manipur which had its own cultural identity, religion, language, script, history and constitution was included into the Indian territory as Part-C state. The people of Manipur should rectify the history of the state which has been wrongly interpreted by the Indians.
The KCP reiterated that the people should boycott the Republic Day Celebration and those who love India should leave the soil of Manipur.
