Rk Meghen was greeted by a group of women supporters who had arrived at the court complex as he was being escorted by police. Meghen greeted the women who had turned out shouting slogans to transfer the case to Manipur and for the centre to endorse the outfit`s call for holding a plebiscite.
Answering query from the media regarding his disappearance after capture, the chairman revealed that he was not arrested by a joint force of Bangladesh and NIA , but was arrested by Bangladesh intelligence , later he was taken to the West Bengal border and handed over to the WB intelligence bureau who later handed him over to the NIA officials. He charged that he was not brought before the court within the legally prescribed time of 24 hours, but was kept in solitary confinement for 61 days. It was due to the pressure from the public that he was ultimately brought out with the claim that he was arrested from Motihari district of Bihar, which is not true at all, he claimed.
Meghen further stated that the UNLF still has the stance of holding a plebiscite to bring an end to the conflict which will not be compromised whereas it is doubtful whether the Indian government will endorse it. He said that the public needs to press for plebiscite demand with a sacrificing spirit and only then will the aim of the outfit emerge true, he had stated.
The chairman further stated that he was not pressed against the demand of holding plebiscite by the government officials while in their custody, but he was urged by the officials in some other matters while being confined at Delhi.
He further reaffirmed his stand that the outfit will go on tirelessly in the struggle for self determination against the colonial yoke, and that his arrest is irrelevant to the revolutionary cause, and he will not compromise with the Indian Government on any grounds aside from the demand of holding a plebiscite.
This is the third time that Meghen is being produced before the NIA court, others members of the UNLF including Nongyai @ Joy , S Rakhesh and M Landhoni was produced in the same court today.
