AMWJU to apprise Governor on abduction bid of scribe

IMPHAL, Feb 9: The All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) in statement released by its spokespersons, A. Mobi Singh, has informed to submit a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur in connection with the abduction attempt of Manikanta, sub-editor (English Edition) of Hueiyen Lanpao.
An emergency meeting of the standing committee was held today in this regards at the Manipur Press Club in the afternoon today at about 12:45. It said that the meet while condemning the incident at the strongest term, resolved to submit a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur tomorrow highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation which resulted in frequent intimidation to the Journalist community.
Apart from that, the meet resolved that the media houses as a mark of protest will wear black badge from February 10 to February 11. At the same time it further appealed the media houses to reflect various intimidations faced by the Journalist Community in their Editorial of February 11 issue.
