COTA apprises

IMPHAL, Feb 12: The representatives of Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) have met the Director General of Census today to apprise him of their demands for the implementation of 6th revised pay.
A release of COTA stated that the failure of the state government to implement the 6th revised pay and subsequent walkout from census operations by the government school teachers of the state have been informed to the Director General. Thereupon, the DG assured the teachers that he would give instructions to the Chief Minister to look into their demands.
The COTA also decried the apathy of the state government towards well-being of the teachers who have been lodged in jail. The health conditions of the teachers have deteriorated and some of the teachers are living in serious conditions, it added.
