MPSC misses 2nd position of Manipur State League

IMPHAL, Feb 1: MPSC which is at the second spot of the 5th Manipur State League Football Tournament with 44 points missed the opportunity to become the runners-up of the tournament after it was defeated by YDO by a goal margin of 2-1 in the last match held today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

With the defeat of MPSC the possibility for NISA (currently with 43 points) to become the runners-up of the tournament is still very high. However, NISA has to win against SSU in the last match to be played tomorrow.

In today’s match between YDO and MPSC, W. Nilakanta and Y. Deepak scored two goals for YDO in 9th and 46th minutes respectively while Henry Kangbak scored a goal for MPSC in 42nd minute of the match.
In the second match, USA beat TRUGPU by 4-1 goals. The goals of USA were scored by Y. Sobha, Thongkhosien and O. Sunand while Sudhiranjan made the solitary goal for TRUGPU.

Meanwhile, NEROCA will meet AIM and NISA will face SSU tomorrow at the concluding matches of the State League.
