AZSU extends gratitude to union Jt secretary

IMPHAL,May17: The All Zeliangrong Students`™ Union (AMN) extended their gratitude to Shambu Singh, Joint Secretary, Minister of Home Affairs (NE region) for visiting Tamenglong and interacting with the public on May 12 at District Headquarter, according to a press release by AMN.

It further noted that Shambu Singh was the Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong during 1993-1995 and was well known as an action oriented, straight forward and sincere IAS officer. He had assured the public of many development works and that the GOI would not hand over NH-53 to the State PWD.

The visiting Union joint secretary also reportedly assured a slew of developmental works for Tamenglong district during his visit to the district headquarters on May 12, 2011.

However, the organization disclosed their displeasure with a statement of Brigade AK Narula where he had stated that the Zeliangrongs are following the decisions of somebody and urged them to follow their own. The statement created quite a furor among the people and the organization drew attention of the general public of Nagas and all concerned authorities to take notice of how the 11AR and Indian Security forces are actively employing divide and rule policy among the Nagas.

Coming down strongly on the “Indian security forces”, the apex Zeliangrong students` body alerted all the Naga general public and other concerned organisations that the “Indian security forces” have been playing actively the divide and rule policy on the Naga society. It particularly pointed its accusation finger at the 11 Assam Rifles on this front.
